2001 Humanitarian Service Project:
Food Banks
Jesus said, “A new commandment I give
unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.” (John
13:34)
|
In the spirit of following Christ's
teachings to love our fellowman, we present the School of
Abraham 2001 Humanitarian Project. This year we’re
working on an outreach program to food banks across the
state – and the country! It’s enjoyable, easy, doable
with many children in tow, and most importantly it gives us
an opportunity to help our less fortunate brothers and
sisters in their time of need.
Here’s what you do:
-
Look on the food bank list
provided (or in your local phone book) for the food
bank closest to your home and call them for their
donation drop-off times.
-
Discuss what you are doing with
your kids.
-
Gather everyone up, head over to
the food bank, and drop off your donation.
-
Report the number of visits to your local
Saints and Scholars—Washington
contact person or email direct to foodbanksproject@msn.com.
-
We’ll post
updates throughout the year and give the grand
total at next year’s conference!
-
One very simple way to participate in
the service project is to have everyone
bring items to your co-op meetings and support
group meetings!
|
Give often and generously and watch your
family’s testimony of service to others grow! |
Thank you in advance for the good
that you will do, and for your
contribution to this important work.
