Welcome –
Let the Sunshine In by Stacey Lytle
Opening
Address
Sister May
Benson
(An invitation
has been extended, confirmation has yet to be received)
Sister Benson was our 1st Mother of The Year;
we would love to have the opportunity to honor her again
and to listen to her words of encouragement.
Key Note
Speaker
Glenn Kimber –
To Reach Every Child / Avoiding Mother Burn-Out
Dr.
Kimber will touch on why we may have started
homeschooling. He will help us to focus our attention on
the important fundamental reason for home education
rather than having our emphasis based solely on the
academics of mathematics and science. Focusing on the
important aspects of education will help us avoid burnout
and find happiness in our endeavors. We will also hear
of the wonderful differences of boys and girls, how they
learn and respond, and how to best help them in their
education. Dr. Glenn Kimber, founder of the Center for
Educational Restoration, Inc., has a background in many
fields of knowledge, including private school
administration as a teacher and principal, writer,
popular public speaker, father of six and grandfather of
seven. He and his wife, Julianne, have written 22
textbooks in the subjects of math, science, language
arts, and history.
Jack Monnett –Not
Just a Better Academic Education…much more…a Saintly
Education.

Young University and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah
in the Foundations of Education, where he specialized in
the historical approach to formal education taken by the

LDS-Home Education Association, and a book that Dr. W.
Cleon Skousen has called the “best history” of Latter-day
Saint Education. Dr. Monnett is the owner of Archive
Publishers, which specializes in reprint of rare and out
of print writings from the early history of the church,
and has lectured to home schooling groups throughout the
United States.

Elementary Education/Child Development from BYU and has
done some graduate work in family sciences. She has
taught in the public school system for over 20 years.
Sister Monnett writes of her experience, “I had the honor
(if you call it) of teaching in a Goals 2000 school. I
was selected as a pioneer curriculum specialist in a Goal
2000 model school. At this point I began to question
what public school was really for—indoctrination of the
students!!” She is a certified instructor in “Parenting
with Love and Logic” and “Teaching with Love and Logic.”
Janice Hunter –
“Words From a Homeschool Mom”
– Jan will share the love
of homeschooling they have enjoyed and the experience and
knowledge gained from 9 years of homeschooling. She will
give answers to questions such as; Can home-schoolers get
into college? How to get children motivated to learn?
Curriculum, to have a schedule or not? Can a mom really
teach her children? Jan and her husband Dan Hunter, have
5 children, ages 13-22.
Dan Hunter –
History Doesn’t Have To Be Boring –
Brother Hunter will show us the value of teaching History
as a story…this creates an emotional tie to the event.
Dan Hunter and his wife Janice have 5 children, and have
been homeschooling for over nine years. Dan is the
author of five Living History series books, with an LDS
perspective, for homeschoolers. His Living History books
