To
think about...
"And in
this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all
people
a
feast
of fat things, a
feast
of wines on the lees,
of fat things full of marrow,
of wines on the lees well
refined. (Isaiah
25:6)
"By teaching the gospel to the earth's inhabitants,
we invite people to come to this
feast,
also called "the supper of the Lord" (D&C
58:11), the "supper of the house of the Lord" (D&C
58:9), and the "marriage supper of the Lamb" (Rev.
19:9).
"All nations" are invited—"first, the
rich and the learned, the wise and the noble"—but
when these reject the invitation to the
feast,
the Lord's representatives will invite the poor and
the humble. Only those who are truly the humble
followers of Christ will be able to partake of the
feast.
This
feast will take place at or near the time of
the Second Coming (D&C
58:9-11;
Rev. 19:7-8;
Matt. 22:2-14;
Luke 14:16-24).

GospeLink: An Amazing Resource
by Paul Savage
|
Deseret Book's website, GospeLink.com is
an amazing resource. You can search by any
word, phrase, or random group of words,
through hundreds of Church books and
periodicals.
 |
The world's largest LDS electronic reference
library is now online!
GospeLink.com, Deseret Book's comprehensive CD-ROM
reference library, is now available by subscription
to anyone with internet access. This puts thousands
of the most important LDS publications at your
fingertips regardless of where you are or what
browser you use.
Deseret Book's website, Gospelink.com is an amazing
resource. It does have a small cost associated with
it, currently an introductory price of $39.00 per year, around $3.25 per
month. You can search by any word, phrase, or
random group of words, through hundreds of Church
books and periodicals. Of course, the Church's own
website, www.lds.org has a great search engine for
conference talks and Ensign and New Era articles.
Curriculum and many other church manuals are also available online
at www.lds.org.
Between the two of these websites, I'm usually able to find
great information on most subjects. Part of
remembering articles is just repetition. I think
most people develop a list of favorite articles or
talks that they try to remember.
But sometimes, the Spirit brings a phrase from a
talk to your remembrance, and that's all you need to
do a search. For instance, Elder Eyring gave a great
talk a few years ago in conference about how we need
to be better member-missionaries, and the one story
that really stuck in my mind was how he wished he
had asked his boss if he would like to know more
about the Church, but he never found the right
moment.
Of course, I couldn't for the life of me remember
which talk or what year it was in, but I remembered
one phrase, "I may have been the only Mormon he ever
knew well." So I went to
www.lds.org and clicked
"search," and used the words "Eyring only Mormon
knew well".
Elder Eyring's talk, "A Voice of Warning," was the
first one to come up! It turns out that it was in
the November 1998 Conference Report. What was funny
was that I didn't even have the quote all the way
right. It should have been "I may have been the only
Latter-Day Saint he ever knew well." But since my
search words were close enough, I still found what I
wanted. These two great resources are much better
than any filing system I could ever develop!

[Editor's note] You will be amazed at what the Lord has done in
preparing a such mighty feast for his Saints of the
latter days. To see a full
