the world's first online forum for the discussion, discovery,
and implementation of LDS educational principles, designed for
LDS parents who are homeschooling their children using the
classical model.
You are probably (a) already using this method or (b) interested
in learning more about it. Either way, we're glad you're here.
This forum is focused on the classical curriculum, in whatever
form it may take in each family, and how to apply it within the
LDS home, including teachings of the restored gospel and
latter-day prophets.
Classical-LDS-hs is a place where ideas can be shared and
various educational endeavors can be discussed openly. It is our
hope to promote cooperation and excellence in LDS educational
efforts. The forum has already seen great success in
accomplishing these goals. Many valuable relationships have been
built between individuals, true principles have been embraced,
and those involved have shared educational principles destined
to change our society in a powerful way.
Come join us! Share your ideas, and what has worked for you.

SaintsandScholars
Group
SaintsandScholars is an online support group
for LDS homeschoolers across the nation, no matter what method
of homeschooling you prefer, established to encourage those who
are motivated to home school, yet need the confidence to begin,
and to refresh and hearten home schooling veterans.
SaintsandScholars is for all parents who homeschool their
children, or who are considering homeschooling as a lifestyle.
We welcome you! Here you will find veteran homeschoolers and
beginners, all learning together.
This list will take a serious look at the ways in which
homeschooling, religious training, and family life shape our
lives and the lives of our children. All are invited to share
ideas, new web site discoveries, success and struggle stories,
character education, favorite curriculum sources, influential
books, experiences with distance learning, lessons you as a
parent have learned, and the general daily life of
homeschooling.
The Lord will intervene in our circumstances to solve the
problems we cannot solve ourselves. When we ask for His help,
then we have access to all the resources of heaven. It is not a
teaching certificate, college degree, great patience, or expert
communication skills that will carry us through to the end in
our home schooling experience, but the help of the Lord.
This list is dedicated to parents teaching parents in the
greatest and most eternal pursuit of all: raising our children
to develop their hearts, minds, and talents in righteousness and
faith.

National LDS Homeschool Association
Welcome to
LDS-NHA, a support group for LDS
homeschoolers across the nation, no matter what
method of homeschooling you prefer, established to
encourage those who are considering home schooling,
yet need the confidence to begin, and to refresh and
hearten weary home schooling veterans.
Ask yourself: are you sufficiently motivated to
homeschool, something that will be difficult and
unconventional? Perhaps the majority of parents who
decide not to home school do so from a lack of
confidence, a feeling of inadequacy or self-doubt.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not
upon your own understanding, in all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
(Proverbs 3:5-6) Remember, it is not a teaching
certificate, college degree, great patience, or
expert communication skills that will carry us
through to the end in our home schooling experience.
The Lord will intervene in our circumstances to
solve the problems we cannot solve ourselves. "For
when I am weak, then I am strong" (I Corinthians
12:10). When we ask for His help, then we have
access to all of the resources of heaven. "I give
unto men weakness that they may be humble; for if
they humble themselves before me, and have faith in
me, then will I make weak things become strong unto
them" (Ether 12:27). This is true no matter how much
self-confidence we have.

School
of Abraham Newsletter
Click here to see our New Additions
newsletter. We are dedicated to the greatest and most eternal pursuit of all: raising our children, a covenant generation, to develop their minds and talents in righteousness and faith.
The School of Abraham exists to encourage individual scholarship through an innovative study program which fosters spiritual and moral development in an environment of academic rigor, and also to help parents more effectively teach their children the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The School of Abraham is designed to be flexible, in order to meet the varied needs of the homeschooling family. Each family chooses their preferred curriculum resources and methods of academic homeschooling.
We have developed an
innovative study program which recognizes
progression by age, rather than by grade, based on spiritual
and moral development. Your children can
move ahead quickly or spend extra time, as desired.
Individual goal setting is emphasized and recognized.
At the School of Abraham, we take as integral to our mission statement the word of the Lord as recorded in the book of Isaiah: "... And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children". (Isaiah 54:13)
Our motto is "Accountability, Exactness, and Honor."
The
School of Abraham supports the family by providing
unique educational resources for religious
education, centered upon the School of Abraham Educational
Model, including our Guided Reading Program for
Great Books and other world classics,
recommended resources for history, biography and
other curricula, studies of the teachings of the
prophets, in-depth study
of the scriptures and commentaries, gospel
art and music resources, and programs which
help strengthen family life and provide
character education.
The School of Abraham has been
founded that our children may be instructed more
perfectly in all things that pertain unto the
Kingdom of God. We teach theory,
principle, doctrine, and the law of the gospel,
that our children may be prepared in all things
when the Lord shall send them again to magnify the
calling whereunto he has called them, and the
mission with which he has commissioned them.
(adapted from D&C 88:78, 80)
