Loha Brown

Assistant Moderator of
Saints and Scholars

Loha Brown has nine years homeschooling experience. She has served
on the board of directors for one of the largest and oldest
homeschool associations in her home state, Teaching Parents
Association. She is the leader of a homeschool field trip group,
acts as host for American Sign Language classes taught at her home,
serves on Washington State Saints and Scholars Annual Conference
Committee, and occasionally volunteers for emergency food systems in
seven counties.

She worked in an administrative position for a local school district
for several years, and served on school district committees
representing Gifted, Learning Disabled, and Minority populations.
Loha has a good understanding of Washington State Public Education
funding formulas, politics, and budgets. Loha says, "My first two
children were educated in the public school system. As a parent and
employee I enjoyed working for and with Bellevue Public Schools. I
was impressed with the dedication of the staff at all levels. After
my first two children finished school I learned about homeschooling.
When it came time to send my last two to school I couldn't do it! My
children were so much fun it seemed a shame to give them up to
someone else for the bulk of their daily waking hours. They love
homeschooling! I enjoy the freedom and peace."
