Michelle Howe

Michelle and her husband  have been blessed to be able to enjoy homeschooling for eleven years.  It became a part of how they live and learn daily and elevated their understanding of the gospel.  Three daughters have graced their home.  The older two are married now and one has given them a beautiful granddaughter.  They are enjoying Their last daughter still at home.  Their lives revolve around their family, but they do find time to do other things.

Michelle has helped organize "Homeschool Days" in Olympia; served on the Olympia Homeschool Support Group's staff; presented the "Art and Music" topic at a few conferences in the area; served as leader of T.A.L.K support group; taught at Benjamin Franklin Academy in Olympia; and is presently serving as organizer of Olympia LDS Home Educators.  There are many that have influenced her and helped her along the way.  She wants others to know that they are not alone in the endeavor to homeschool.

Class:  Art and Music -- Taught by Me?

Michelle writes, “The topics I used to avoid teaching were Art and Music.  The reason was because I did not play an instrument well enough, and I could not do any artwork except a stick figure!  I was simply afraid to teach it. However, I knew it was important....”

Michele has found a successful way to teach Art and Music without being a musician or an artist.   In this important class she shares her experience with others so that they will not feel intimidated by these subjects, and instead thoroughly enjoy the experience as exciting and rewarding.  She will present specific ideas that you can develop in your homeschooling experience.
